2024
◆ Began season on Blue Jays injured list with right shoulder inflammation and made five rehab appearances
between High-A Dunedin (one game) and Triple-A Buffalo (four games)...In final rehab start on April 30 at
Indianapolis, recorded 12 strikeouts in 6.0 IP and induced 19 swing-and-misses, including 13 whiffs on his slider.
◆ Made MLB season debut on May 5 at Washington...Threw a sinker to Jacob Young in the 2nd inning that reached
96.5 MPH, his hardest pitch thrown in the Majors since Sept. 7, 2022 at Baltimore (96.5 MPH).
◆ Had consecutive outings of 7.0 IP and no earned runs allowed on May 12 vs. Twins and May 19 vs. Rays...Those
games represented his first time pitching at least 7.0 frames in consecutive starts since Sept. 2-7, 2022...Allowed

◆ Earned first win of the year on April 5 at KC, tossing 7.0 frames of one-hit, shutout ball with five strikeouts.
◆ Took a no-decision in Toronto’s Home Opener on April 11 vs. Detroit...Became fifth pitcher in team history to
pitch the club’s Season Opener and the Home Opener, joining Jim Clancy (1981), Jimmy Key (1989), Marcus
Stroman (2016), and Hyun Jin Ryu (2020).

Verlander and Dylan Cease...Earned first career All-MLB First Team selection.
◆ Named an All-Star for first time in career...Pitched a scoreless 2nd inning in the Midsummer Classic, notching
three strikeouts (vs. William Contreras, Joc Pederson and Ronald Acuña Jr.) and one HBP...Joined Dave Stieb
(1983) as the only pitchers in franchise history to strike out at least three batters in a single All-Star Game.
◆ His 25 quality starts tied with Yu Darvish for second most in the Majors, trailing only Framber Valdez’s 26.
◆ Ranked third among qualified A.L. pitchers in both ERA (2.24) and wins (16)...Also ranked fourth in innings
pitched (196.2) and WHIP (0.99), and fifth in opponent batting average (.202)...Became sixth A.L. pitcher since

franchise history by a player in his first 50 career games (2nd: Juan Guzmán- 279).

streak to 15.0 frames...Allowed just six earned runs over final 54.0 innings of work across his last eight starts for

◆ Named A.L. Pitcher of the Month for September...Went 4-0 in six starts while posting a 0.88 ERA (41 IP - 4 ER),
the best in a single month ever by a Blue Jay (2nd: Roger Clemens - 0.89 in July of 1997).
