◆ Made Angels Opening Day roster for first time in career and made two relief appearances before making first
career Major League start April 10 vs. Tampa Bay (ND; 4.0 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 0 BB, 6 SO).
◆ Tied with Pittsburgh’s Paul Skenes for Major League lead (min. 100 IP) with a 98.8 MPH average fastball
velocity...Also led all pitchers in average velocity on sliders (91.5 MPH), knuckle curves (86.4 MPH) and splitters
(92.7 MPH).
◆ Ranked third in Majors in ground ball rate (60%) and was ninth in MLB (third in A.L.) with a 0.64 HR/9 inning rate.
◆ Led Major League pitchers with an average of 2.63 total fielding chances per nine innings...Totaled 15 putouts
and 16 assists on the year, while turning three double plays and committing just two errors.
