◆ Older brother, Tyler, pitched parts of five Major League seasons with Mets (2004), Braves (2006-07) and Pirates
(2008-09)...Duo were the first Hawaiian brothers to each appear in Majors.
◆ Married wife, Ashlee, in 2016 and has daughter Oaklee and son Kove...Shortly after giving birth to Kove in July
of 2018, Ashlee experienced a seizure and was diagnosed with epilepsy soon after...During Kirby’s time with the
Padres, the couple partnered with the Epilepsy Foundation of San Diego County to host an Epilepsy Awareness
Night at Petco Park on Sept. 10, 2019...Kirby and Ashlee that year also established “Comedy For A Cause,” an
epilepsy benefit held at The American Comedy Co. in the Gaslamp District in downtown San Diego.
