DOM CHITI PITCHING COORDINATOR
COACHING SUMMARY
◆ 2025 will mark Chiti’s 50th year in professional baseball (since 1976) — as a
player, coach, scout or baseball operations official — and fourth year with the Angels
organization (second season as Pitching Coordinator) .
◆ Before becoming Angels Pitching Coordinator in 2024, was Mets Bullpen Coach in
2023 and the Angels Bullpen Coach from 2021-22; was named Halos Interim Bullpen
Coach prior to the start of 2021 Spring Training after initially joining the organization as
a Special Assistant to the General Manager...Named full-time Bullpen Coach midway through the 2021 season.
◆ Prior to joining the Angels, he completed his third stint with Braves where he served as Special Assistant,
Scouting for the 2020 season after working as Director of Pitching (2016-17) and Director of Player
Development (2017-19)...His first stint with Atlanta was as a Major League Advance Scout (1996-2001) and
was a Special Assistant to General Manager Frank Wren from 2009-13 in second stint with Braves.
◆ Served as Orioles Bullpen Coach from 2014-16...During a seven-year stretch with Rangers, he was Bullpen
Coach (2006-08), Director of Player Development (2004-05), Major League Advance Scout (2004) and a Special
Assistant (2002-03).
◆ Spent seven seasons with Cleveland organization as Pitching Coach for Triple-A Buffalo in 1995, Major League
Advance Scout in 1994, Major League Bullpen Coach from 1992-93 and was a minor league roving instructor
from 1989-91.
◆ Began coaching career in Orioles organization as a minor league pitching coach (1982-88).

◆ Played six minor league seasons with Atlanta (1976-80) and Baltimore (1981) after being selected by Braves
in second round of 1976 Draft.

◆ Is the son of Harry Chiti, who played 10 Major League seasons as a catcher with Chicago Cubs (1950-52,
1955-56), Kansas City Athletics (1958-60), Detroit Tigers (1960-61) and New York Mets (1962).

MANAGERIAL AND COACHING SUMMARY
◆ Returns for second season as Pitching Performance Coordinator after serving as a
pitching coach for Triple-A Salt Lake in 2023 and ACL Angels in 2022.
◆ Spent nine years (2012-20) with Cincinnati in various coaching roles, including on
the Major League staff in 2018 and as Manager of Rookie League Greeneville in 2020.
PLAYING CAREER
◆ Selected by Atlanta in the 18th round of 1994 Draft...Made five Major League
appearances for Braves in 1999 at age 22...Pitched in the Royals, Diamondbacks, Cubs, Brewers and Red Sox
minor league systems...Retired as a professional player following the 2005 season.
◆ Received Associate of Arts degree from Estrella Mountain College (Avondale, AZ) in 2008 and a Bachelors
degree in secondary education (history) from Arizona State University in December 2009...Appeared in the
2011 movie Moneyball, playing former Athletics pitcher Mike Magnante.

COACHING SUMMARY
◆ Enters ninth year in Angels organization and third as Outifled/Baserunning Coordinator.
◆ Previously spent three years (2020-2022) as a Special Assistant to the General
Manager focusing on all scouting elements for the organization, and four years (2016-
19) as a Pro Scout.
PLAYING CAREER
◆ A Southern California native, Francisco, 43, was drafted by Cleveland in the fifth
round of the 2002 Draft out of UCLA.
◆ Made MLB debut May 1, 2007 and would go on to enjoy a seven-year big league career with Cleveland,
Philadelphia, Toronto, Houston, Tampa Bay and New York (A.L.)…Over the course of 563 Major League
games, Francisco hit .253 (400/1579) with 50 home runs and 190 RBI, including consecutive 30 doubles/15
home run seasons in 2008 and 2009…The former outfielder would also made three different trips to the
postseason, including the 2009 World Series with the Phillies (Yankees won the Series in six games).
◆ Francisco prepped at Servite High School (Anaheim, CA), which sits less than 10 miles from Angel Stadium.
