2021...From 2019 to 2021, he served on the team’s Major League coaching staff as the
Assistant Hitting coach.

between big-league games for a player since Ralph Winegarner from June 23, 1936 to July 7, 1949 (13 years,
14 days).
◆ Spent time in the Padres, Mariners, Mets and Braves organizations from 2004-2021...Batted .257
(1613/6275) across 1,753 minor league games.
◆ In 2021, ended his playing career as the Triple-A Gwinnett franchise leader in games, hits, runs, RBI, and
total bases.
JOE KRUZEL FIELD COORDINATOR

COACHING SUMMARY
◆ Enters fourth year as Field Coordinator for the Angels in 2025.
◆ Previously, Kruzel was the Manager for Double-A Springfield in the Cardinals
system for two seasons (2019-20).
◆ Was part of the Cardinals minor league staff for 13 seasons, eight years (2013-
2020) as a Manager and five years as a Hitting Coach for Single-A Quad Cities.
◆ Prior to his time with the Cardinals, spent two years (2006-07) with Cincinnati
as the Hitting Coach for the Gulf Coast League Reds and as the Manager at Rookie-
level Billings.
◆ A veteran collegiate coach, Kruzel served as the Assistant Baseball Coach at Miami (Ohio) University in
2005 and 15 seasons (1989-2003) at the University of Toledo as the Assistant Baseball Coach and Head
Coach...He was named Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year in 1999.
◆ Played second base at Toledo from 1985-1988 and was elected into the Toledo City Athletic League Hall of
Fame in 2018 and the Toledo Central Catholic High School Hall of Fame in April 2020.
