                      MIKE GALLEGO                        INFIELD COORDINATOR

                      COACHING SUMMARY
                      ◆    2025 represents Gallego’s 10th season with the Angels organization and second as
                      Infield Coordinator.
                      ◆    He was previously Player Development Staff Coach (2023) and Major League Field
                      Coordinator (2022) after two seasons (2020-21) as Bench Coach for the Angels…Served
                      as  the  Club’s  Third  Base  and  Infield  Coach  in  2019…From  2016-18,  was  the  Angels
                      Director, Baseball Development.
                      ◆    From 2009-15, served as Athletics Third Base Coach, which included three trips to
          the postseason (2012, 2013 & 2014).
        ◆   Joined the A’s following nine seasons (2000-08) working in the Rockies organization...From 2005-08, served
          on Rockies Major League staff as Third Base and Infield coach...Began coaching career as Red Sox minor
          league infield instructor in 1999.
        PLAYING CAREER
        ◆   Played 13 Major League seasons with Athletics (1985-91, 1995), Yankees (1992-94) and Cardinals (1996-97),
          compiling a .239 (700/2931) average with 111 doubles, 12 triples, 42 home runs and 282 RBI...Fashioned a
          .986 career fielding percentage at second base over 2,642 total chances.
        ◆   Played in four career postseasons, including trips to three straight World Series with Oakland (1988-90)...
          Was a member of 1989 World Series Champion A’s.
        ◆   Originally drafted by Oakland in second round of 1981 Draft...Played collegiately at UCLA for three years
          after prepping at St. Paul High School (Santa Fe Springs, CA - 17 miles from Angel Stadium).  PLAYER  DEVELOPMENT
        ◆   He and wife, Caryn, have twin sons, Joe and Nicholas “Niko” and a daughter, Ali, and reside in Scottsdale,
          AZ... Son, Niko, also played college baseball at UCLA and played in 2010 College World Series Finals against
          South Carolina...Niko was selected by Diamondbacks in 27th round of 2010 First-Year Player Draft and went
          on to play five seasons of professional baseball...Uncle of Dodgers catcher Austin Barnes.

                      MANAGERIAL AND COACHING SUMMARY
                         ◆  2025  represents  fourth  season  in  Angels  organization  and  second  as  Minor  League
                      Catching Coordinator...Previously served as Angels Major League Third Base Coach (2023) and
                      Catching Coach (2022)....Also in 2022, was acting manager for two games (0-2) against Houston
                      and Miami while Phil Nevin was serving a suspension.
                         ◆  Prior to joining Angels, spent eight season (2014-21) in various roles with the Dodgers.
                         ◆  In 2012, joined the Angels organization as Manager of Single-A Inland Empire and guided
                      the 66ers to a California League title...Was the minor league catching instructor for the Red Sox
          in 2011...After a three-year stint away from professional baseball, rejoined coaching ranks with the Rangers in 2010 as
          the Manager of Single-A Bakersfield...From 2004-06, held various coaching positions at the Major League level with the
          Red Sox...Was named Interim First Base Coach for Boston during their 2004 World Series championship.
        PLAYING CAREER
           ◆ As a 13-year Major League veteran, compiled a .259 (416/1606) lifetime average with 47 home runs and 210 RBI with
          the Rangers, Mariners, Red Sox and Tigers primarily as a catcher.
           ◆ Selected 23rd overall in 1987 by the Texas Rangers out of UCLA where he was a dual-sport athlete, playing both
          baseball and football...Was the backup quarterback for the Bruins behind Troy Aikman...Was a walk-on to the baseball
          team...Prepped at Saratoga High School (Saratoga, CA).


                              MARA FORCEY AWARD

         The Mara Forcey Award recognizes a member of the minor league staff for their outstanding
         dedication to the organization.
         The award is named after Mara Forcey, an Angels staff member who lost her battle with cancer
         in 1993. Forcey was a model employee and friend to all.
