◆ Returns to the Angels Major League staff in 2026 as third base coach, following big league coaching
stints with the Halos in 2018 (infield coach) and 2015 (player information coach)...Johnson also
served as Marlins first base coach in 2021 and 2022.
◆ The 2026 season marks Johnson’s 19th campaign with Angels organization.
◆ Is the all-time winningest manager in Salt Lake Bees franchise history, with 681 career victories across
three stints at the helm from 2011-14, 2016-18, and 2023-25...Across parts of 15 seasons as a minor
league manager, owns a 976-1,058 (.480) record.
◆ Spent 2019 season managing in Miami’s minor league system with Triple-A New Orleans...Led Baby
Cakes to a 73-65 (.529) record and a third place finish in the PCL American Southern Division.
◆ Led Bees to second-place division finish in 2018 with a 71-68 record (.511)...In 2017, managed Bees
to their first winning season (72-70) since 2013 and finished one game behind out of first place in
PCL Southern Division.
◆ In 2013, was named PCL Manager of the Year by his peers and by Baseball America...Compiled a 78-
66 (.542) record and advanced to PCL Finals...Bees finished 73-71 (.507) in 2012 and 62-82 (.431) in
2011.
◆ Led Adv.-A Rancho Cucamonga to California League Championship Series in 2010...Quakes posted a
61-79 record in 2009 and finished third in the South Division of the Cal League.
◆ Spent 2008 season at Single-A Cedar Rapids where he led Kernels to the playoffs as a wild card winner
in second half...Finished with a 72-66 overall mark; Swept Western Division Semifinals but lost in
Division Finals series.
◆ Spent two seasons (2006-07) as Hitting Coach at Double-A Arkansas...Made Managerial debut when
he took over as Arkansas’ Interim Manager for final 32 games of the 2006 season.
◆ Spent 2005 as hitting coach for Pioneer League champion Orem Owlz...Was hitting coach for Mesa
Angels in rookie Arizona League in 2004.

◆ Played professionally for 11 seasons as infielder with Dodgers (1993-1998, 2001), Diamondbacks
(1999) and Angels (2000, 2002-2003) organizations...Made Major League Debut on April 17, 2000 vs.
Toronto; Appeared in six games for the Angels in 2000 and batted .500 (2/4) with two runs scored.
◆ Batted .264 (1205/4573) with 118 home runs and 600 RBI in 1,265 minor league games.
◆ Was originally selected by Dodgers in fourth round of 1992 Draft and signed on June 4, 1992... Retired
as a player after 2003 season.
◆ Attended University of Pacific (Stockton, CA), where he majored in Sports Medicine and played
three seasons (1990-92) for the UOP baseball team....Prepped at Hanford High (CA) where he played
baseball, basketball and football and graduated in 1992.
