COACHING HIGHLIGHTS
◆ 2026 marks Schatzley’s first stint as a big league coach following five seasons as a minor league
manager in Angels organization.
◆ Managed Angels Double-A affiliate, the Rocket City Trash Pandas, from 2022-25...Compiled a 245-
304 (.446) overall record, including a Southern League-leading 81-57 (.587) finish in 2022 which
was the team’s best season since the Trash Pandas (formerly Mobile BayBears) became an Angels
affiliate in 2017...The 2022 Trash Pandas also became the first Angels Double-A affiliate to reach the
postseason since the Arkansas Travelers in 2015.
◆ Named 2022 Southern League Manager of the Year.
◆ Made managerial debut in 2021 with High-A Tri-City.
◆ Spent eight years (2012-19) as Associate Head Baseball Coach, Recruiting Coordinator, and
Offensive & Defensive Instructor at Harding University (Searcy, AR)…Previously served as an
Assistant Coach and Graduate Assistant with Emporia State University (Emporia, KS) and Lubbock
Christian University (Lubbock, TX), and coached in two collegiate summer leagues.
◆ Holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History and a Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership...He
played collegiately at Pratt Community College (Pratt, KS) from 2004-06, and at Lyon College
(Batesville, AR) from 2006-08.

DUGOUT AND PHOTOGRAPHERS AREAS
• Ball striking any forward facing green padded dugout or photographer well railing and rebounding
onto playing field: In Play.
• Ball striking or resting on padded flat area at the home plate end of both dugouts is considered in the
dugout: Out of Play. (Fielder is permitted to lean on or over this area in an attempt to field the ball.)
OUTFIELD AREA
• The netted extension from the foul pole to the top of the outfield wall is treated as part of the foul
pole:
● Ball in flight striking extension: Home Run
● Ball striking the top of the outfield wall in fair territory then extension: Home Run
● Bounding ball (off of the playing surface) striking the extension: Two Bases
• Ball in flight striking higher wall at a point above the lower wall and continuing over the lower wall in
fair territory: Home Run
• Ball striking yellow square at top of outfield wall adjacent to the left field bullpen gate: In Play
● Ball in flight striking vertical fence support above yellow square at top of outfield wall adjacent
to the left field bullpen gate: Home Run
● Fair bounding ball striking vertical fence support above yellow square at top of outfield wall
adjacent to the left field bullpen gate: Out of Play, Two Bases
• Ball in flight striking beyond the yellow line, including the video board, in right field: Home Run
